Going after the "one" ...
Matthew 18:12-14 ... “What do you think? Suppose a man owns 100 sheep and one of them wanders away. Won’t he leave the 99 sheep on the hills? Won’t he go and look for the one that wandered off? 13 What I’m about to tell you is true. If he finds that sheep, he is happier about the one than about the 99 that didn’t wander off. 14 It is the same with your Father in heaven. He does not want any of these little ones to be lost." NIRV
This is a principle that my mother taught me as a child. It is a principle the nuns lived by each and every day of their lives. Jesus Christ modeled/models it for us all. The nuns, one of the most famous being Mother Theresa, modeled it after Jesus. I love that the gospel of Jesus Christ is simple enough for a child to understand, and to participate!
A touch, a smile, a nod of the head … so simple, yet so powerful, opening the door to share the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. To think He died for each of us as if we had been the only “one!” I don’t think I’ll ever get over it!
Therefore, out of the heart of worship, deep wells of salvation flow ... these rivers of love and mercy flow to the lost, the dying, the broken and the abandoned. These dear ones are not found in churches for they are often alone and forgotten. Therefore, we spend more time outside the church walls, than we do inside the church walls. At least 70% of our work is hidden, and confidential. And, we like it that way.
"Who are you and what do you do?"
I can't tell you how many times someone has asked me this question! About 70% of what we do is very confidential, so this question always left me a bit tongue-tied. Until ... one day, as I was ministering to the poor and the homeless, a gentleman asked me that question, "Who are you and what do you do?" I paused a second, and suddenly these words just flowed from my tongue, "I follow Jesus around and I watch Him bless people!"
You see, many years ago, Jesus called me to serve Him out of love. You see, when you are in love, it is easy to serve. I love that Jesus was both King, and Servant. He didn't have to lay down His life for us; He did it out of love!
Even the Son of Man did not come to be served. Instead, He came to serve others. He came to give His life as the price for setting many people free. Mark 10:45 NIRV
Isaiah 61:1-3 is a very good description of the ministries of NLWM:
It is reality – it is being lived out before our very eyes each and every day – a lifestyle – His lifestyle in and through us for His glory, and freedom for the captives! We have only just begun. Read it again and rejoice with us. Isaiah 61 pretty much describes what He is doing in and through you as you continue to encourage, pray and support the desires of His heart and the works of His hands through New Life Worship Ministries. We thank you!
Isaiah 61:1-3 ~ Announce Freedom to All Captives
The Good News of Salvation
“The Spirit of the Lord God is upon Me,
Because the Lord has anointed Me
To preach good tidings to the poor;
He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted,
To proclaim liberty to the captives,
And the opening of the prison to those who are bound;
To proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord,
And the day of vengeance of our God;
To comfort all who mourn,
To console those who mourn in Zion,
To give them beauty for ashes,
The oil of joy for mourning,
The garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness;
That they may be called trees of righteousness,
The planting of the Lord, that He may be glorified.”
John 13:38 ...
Jesus answered him,
"Will you lay down your life for My sake?" NKJ
Therefore, following the example of Jesus Christ, by His grace, I live my life, 'by faith,' and 'on call' for those in need, and often in crisis. And the NLWM Team, also live surrendered lives to the call of the Father, by the power of the Holy Spirit, in Jesus name, Amen.
